Design Principle

Week 4

Harmony - includes the selection of elements with common characteristics. This is the feeling that all the elements of your design can be combined. They may be suitable for the same theme, aesthetic style or emotion.

Figure 0.1,Harmony , Week 4

Uniform - refers to repeating specific elements - whether color, shape, or material - throughout the design to combine the appearance. This happens when these elements are combined in a balanced way, giving people a sense of unity and creating a theme. Although unity and harmony may sound similar, they play different roles in the way we experience design.

Scale and scope- both are related to size. Scale is the size of one object relative to other objects in the design. Scale refers to the size of each part of an object relative to other parts of the same object.

Figure 0.3,Scale and scope , Week 4

Scale - refers to the size and size of drawings and tables relative to a specific unit of measurement. It can be determined in two ways: actual measurement and comparison based visual estimation.

Figure 0.4,Scale  , Week 4

Proportion - The relationship of two or more elements in a composition and how they compare to one another with respect to size, color, quantity, degree, setting. It is said to be harmonious when a correct relationship exists between the elements with respect to size or quantity.

Week 5 :

Symbol - a symbol, shape, or object used to represent other things. In design, symbols can provide or convey information, equivalent to one or more words, or even a complete story.

Figure 0.6,Symbol , Week 5

Graphical symbols - image related and simplified pictures.

Figure 0.7,Graphical symbols , Week 5

Abstract symbols - can look like the objects they represent, but with less detail.

Figure 0.8,Abstract symbols, Week 5

Text and image - image is an important part of design, whether printed or digital products. If the correct image is used in the design work, users and viewers can be associated with a concept or brand. Therefore, it is very important to use appropriate and relevant images in design. Appropriate fonts and strategic positioning of fonts will produce visual hierarchy and balance in design works. Typesetting is the design and arrangement of words to convey information or concepts.

Visual Research

Exploration

1      After learning more about these design principles through the lecture, I began to draw a sketch.

Symbol

The symbol is made with the letter M

2   I started by looking for some harmonious colors. I'm doing research using colors and pictures. So after drawing the outline of the color, I created it

This monkey actually represents Level 3. I don't know why it's 3. Because it was a whim

Harmony

I want to create a harmonious color design. I get inspiration from food desserts. I want to create a harmonious picture

I first drew a simple line draft, then made some modifications, and then made some simple coloring. Then carry out detail processing

3    Unity

I used geometry to splice a unity picture

I made a unity with squares and triangles. Surround the triangle with a square. Then cycle

Final Outcome

FEEBACK

Find a more suitable color. Try a new color and change it many times. Try to find the feeling many times

REFLECTION

In this task, I think I can do well,. But Ms. kimchi still felt that it was not good enough because he didn't fully understand it. She needs me to revise it again.
