Week 2 :
Balance - balance is one of the key principles of design. It refers to the arrangement of visual elements to coordinate their visual weight with other elements in the design, and the composition presents the appearance of appropriately distributed elements.
Symmetrical balance - it has the same weight on the equal sides of the fulcrum placed in the center. The equal arrangement of elements on both sides (horizontal or vertical) of the central axis leads to bilateral balance. Arranging elements evenly around the center point results in radial balance. Approximate symmetry refers to the arrangement of equivalent but not identical shapes around the fulcrum line.
Examples of symmetric equilibrium.

Figure 1.2, Symmetrical balance, Week 2
Asymmetric balance - the visual weight on both sides of the composition is not equal. One side of the composition may contain a dominant element, while the other side can be balanced by one or more smaller focuses. It evokes a sense of modernism, movement, vitality and vitality. It provides more visual diversity, although it may be more difficult to implement because the relationships between elements are more complex

Figure 1.4, Asymmetric balance, Week 2
Golden ratio - it is a mathematical concept and an indefinite number. This ratio itself comes from the Fibonacci sequence, which is a naturally occurring sequence, which can be seen everywhere, from the number of leaves on trees to the shape of shells. Many people believe that the golden ratio is the representative of perfect beauty and has been used as a guide to creating visual balance for centuries. For designers, it can bring harmony, balance and structure to the works, and increase the attraction of the design works at the same time.
Example of golden ratio:
Figure 1.1,Golden ratio , Week 2
Rule of Thirds-Creating more vitality for design works is a composition guide. The image is evenly divided into one-third in the horizontal and vertical directions, and the main body of the image is placed at the intersection of these boundary lines or along one of them.
One third rule example
Figure 1.6,One third rule , Week 2
Emphasis - used to create dominance and focus in design works. Various elements can be used to create emphasis, such as color, value and shape to achieve advantages.
Figure 1.7,Emphasis , Week 2
Week 3 :
Repetition - repetition can make a design look active. It creates rhythm and pattern in the work.
Figure 2,Repetition , Week 2
Movement - the way the design guides the eye into, around, and through the composition - the path the eye follows. Motion / movement occurs when an object appears to be moving in a visual image. Motion in visual images comes from various shapes, forms, lines and curves used.
Figure 2.1,Movement , Week 2
Hierarchy - hierarchy is the arrangement of content in an article to convey information and meaning. The visual hierarchy first directs the audience to the most important information and identifies and navigates through secondary content.
Figure 2.2, Hierarchy , Week 2
Align - the placement of an element so that its edges align along a common row or column, or its body aligns along a common center. Alignment creates a sense of unity and cohesion, which contributes to the overall aesthetics and perceptual stability of the design.
Visual Research:
example
1 I drew a symmetrical figure with a butterfly as a reference. Then I think the elephant's head is like butterfly wings. Rotate the angle a little. So I mixed these two photos together. I made some changes. It looks more like wings and sews them together with a mirror. It became a butterfly
2 The second picture is the asymmetrical balance design. I used tableware and food. I use the plate as a place. Put chopsticks in the middle of the plate. Then change the direction of the chopsticks. You can also add some food to make it look more interesting
3 Because clowns are strange and funny. So I put some strange shapes together to make a clown's face
Exploration:
1 The balance design I created is a symmetrical balance design. Made a butterfly from the heads of two elephants
2 The balance design that I created is a asymmetrical balance design. A pair of chopsticks. A bowl and a dumpling. Chopsticks are not balanced
3 This is a clown who uses symbols to make an asymmetrical balance design
Final Outcome

FEEBACK
Ms. Yip Jinchi gave feedback. She said the whole was good. But I need to be more specific. Need some process
Reflection:
When I think of the concept of balance and emphasis, I begin to feel that it is not so complex. However, when I tried to make some sketches, I went online for inspiration. Find some reference figures for
